Electrical Engineer I-Energy

We are looking for Electrical Engineers to join our team and consult for our Utility Client in Southern California. He/ She will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and superior organization and planning skills.

Job Location: Santa Ana and Pomona California

Responsibilities

  • Performs power systems analysis such as short circuit duty analysis, capacity analysis, reliability, protection, voltage impact and power factor studies.
  • Analyze distribution power systems (radial systems) for voltage impacts, harmonics, or overloading issues using power flow software (i.e. PSLF or CYME).
  • Evaluate various load profiles to determine acceptable penetration level of distributed generation at different locations in existing distribution network.
  • Review and analyze Rule 21 applications for interconnecting generation.
  • Perform technical reviews to identify how the project can be interconnected to the utility’s electrical grid in a safe and reliable manner while complying with all applicable standards and regulations.
  • Develop scope and design projects based on assessments associated with power system analysis, planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of distribution networks. Review and identify mapping discrepancies and update electrical maps and drawings.

Min Qualifications

  • 1 - 3 years of experience
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering Degree or other Engineering Degree with related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Educational coursework in power flow, Proficient understanding of circuit maps, experience with using modeling software, or system protection, understanding of interconnection projects, understanding facility infrastructure maps
