Project Director-Construction-Healthcare

We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Project Director for Construction of Healthcare and Biomedical projects, that will lead our efforts in growing and managing our healthcare and biomedical team in our Boston Office on projects located in New England. This is a leadership level position that will require a mix of business development, client management, recruiting, staff development and project and program management skills. The main client focus will be focused on Healthcare/Hospital, Lab and Life Science or Academic Clients.

Projects may include new construction, interior renovations and additions. Our role may involve oversight of all phases of work from team assembly, planning and design, permitting, community engagement, bidding and award, construction coordination and administration, site selection, budgeting, scheduling, programming, FF&E procurement and installation, equipment planning and move coordination.

Specific Responsibilities and Required Skills:

Participation in the business development process including running client presentations, proposal writing and contract negotiations.

Play active role in participating healthcare networking events, including involvement in new and current memberships and targeted sponsorships within organizations.

Strong computer skills and literacy in scheduling, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet software.

Lead project teams ensure they are meeting client goals and serve as project champion and point of escalation for clients.

Run or participate in regular project meetings, ensure proper documentation and completion of action items.

Develop, track, update, forecast and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project.

Ensure collaborative communication between all team members.

Establish accountability and drive decision making.

Understanding of and ability to read plans and specifications.

Exceptional organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.

Identify and recruit project management staff.

Leadership and supervisory skills in managing, training and mentoring teams of project managers.

Technical project management skills related to planning, design, construction and closeout.

Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.

Extreme attention to detail and sound decision making.

Capability to manage competing demands on multiple client projects simultaneously.

Be able to prioritize and handle challenging projects with minimal supervision.

Self-motivated, able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Comfortable working between Anser offices and multiple client sites.

Must have personal transportation.

Educations and Experience:

Minimum 4-year degree in building construction, engineering, architecture, facilities management or a related field.

Minimum of 15 years of project management and supervisory experience and in overseeing private, public healthcare projects in Massachusetts and other New England States.

Managing prior projects as an owner’s representative is a plus.


Project Management experience on complex, multifaceted healthcare projects from inception to completion, managing projects as an Owner Project Manager is a plus.


Knowledge of local New England marketplace including relationships with healthcare providers, architects, contractors, furniture dealers and other healthcare vendors.

MS Windows, Office and Project experience required; Bluebeam, AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, eBuilder, InFocus, MS PowerPoint, Primavera experience a plus.

AIA, LEED, CSL, or PMP certification is a plus.

Experience with building codes and standards and DPH regulations and policies.
