Senior Project Analyst

Location: Santa Ana, CA

Job Summary:

This Senior Project Analyst position is necessary to ensure achievement of goals by establishing and maintaining the coordination of activities, resources, equipment and information necessary to support the project manager on the projects they are assigned. The Project Analyst must have skills of adaptability, versatility with project support and facilitation skills to keep the project and the project manager focused on the objectives of the organization and the projects he/she supports. This position will provide support/assistance and subject matter expertise to the senior project managers in the organization as it relates to document control, project schedules, scope management, budget management, contract management and other processes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

  • Support documentation efforts to initiate, plan, schedule, execute, and close electrical related construction projects.
  • Analyze, review and document the requirements of a project throughout its life cycle
  • Work with entire project teams to help closeout SAP work orders within its planned scope, schedule and budget.
  • Assist the Project Manager/ Grid Design and Performance Manager/ Grid Superintendent in scheduling efforts including updating start/ finish dates, remaining durations, and managing dependencies within Client’s scheduling system.
  • Attend meetings, as needed and distribute meeting materials to relevant project team members
  • Assist the PM with tracking the progress and quality of work being performed by other disciplines (i.e. Engineering, Permitting, Procurement, etc.)
  • Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures
  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the contractor and project team
  • Ensure team needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner

Other Duties:

  • Assist the PM with issuing Contracts, Letters of Intent, Purchase Orders, etc.
  • Maintain Contract Execution Tracking, Change Management, Risk, relevant project information, and other needed documentation and /or logs
  • Assist the PM in the review of Contractor quotations to ensure that only fair and reasonable pricing is recommended for approval
  • Track & manage contemplated change notices and change orders in the database
  • Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others.
  • Keep the PM and others informed about project status and issues that may impact the overall project

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 - 5 years of analytical experience in a corporate position
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a business environment supporting Projects
  • Must have working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint in a corporate environment
